ARE YOU SURROUNDED BY "INCOMPLETES"?
Do you have an unrealized or incomplete project staring you in the face, and don't know exactly what you should do? Maybe it's a door that needs to be hung, a light that needs a lightbulb or a fence in need of repair. If you are as most people are, you are surrounded by minor (or in some case major) "incompletes" which are draining your energy and causing you stress on a subconscious level.
About 10 years ago I bought and began reading a book written about success by Jack Canfield. You may recognize his name by the award winning Chicken Soup for the Souls series of books he helped to create.
According to Jack Canfield in his book Success Principles (pages 208-213: Principle 28) M. Canfield writes about the perils of living in an environment of unfinished business:
"We can only pay attention to so many things at one time, and each promise, agreement, or item on your to-do list leaves fewer attention units to dedicate to completing present tasks and bringing new opportunities and abundance into your life."
WHAT EXACTLY IS AN INCOMPLETE? Here are just some examples
Former business activities
Promises not kept
Closets overflowing with unworn clothes
Disorganized garage crowded with discards
Disorganized tax records
Junk drawers
Full attic of unused items
Non-balanced checkbook
Filing left undone
Cluttered desk
Family pictures not in an album
People you need to forgive
A messy purse full of receipts
Stuff under the bed you have forgotten about...
Jack continues encouraging us through the 28th Success Principle titled "Clean Up Your Messes AND Your Incompletes" by suggesting we, his readers make a list of all of our incompletes followed by how we will complete them, and then after creating the list we are directed to choose 4 items off our list and then work away at completing them. He suggests choosing those things which would immediately free up time, energy or space.
Living a life of abundance, with focus and clarity can begin with some very simple steps of completion on things we didn't even know were bothering us. Like that shoe you keep passing on your way upstairs, each time you ignore it and don't pick it up it knocks on your mind an takes your valuable attention.

I CREATED A GAME TO HELP YOU - LET'S PLAY!
"Young lady you need to do a 180!" Have you ever heard that saying? Doing a "180" simply means taking whatever you are doing and turning it around completely to the opposite. For an example, if I am standing to the right and do a "180° turn around" I will turn my body immediately and completely to the LEFT. 180's are quick, controllable, and relatively pain free - they just take some time, but that's ok. WE WILL MAKE THE TIME.
RULES OF THE GAME:
The rules are simple. Take your incomplete project whether it be cleaning out the garage, cleaning out your purse, or even tidying your desk and commit to give that project a 180° turn around by the END OF THE DAY. Yes, I know. Though it sounds hard, getting your project to completion in as fast a turn around as possible will aid you in your completion goals, and give you the momentum you have been so desperately needing.
DIRTY CAR > 180° < CLEAN CAR
MESSY GARAGE > 180° < CLEAN GARAGE
CLUTTERED CLOSET > 180° < CLEAN CLOSET
**************NOW**************
NOW after your task is completed, it is time to reward yourself. Get yourself an iced coffee, a new shirt, a pair of shoes, or maybe even put $5 into a jar for later. Do something special. As a big fan of rewardivation, I have always rewarded myself upon the completion of an incomplete. While the completed project in and of itself is an awesome reward - sometimes knowing a nice warm cup of coffee is waiting for me on the other end is just what I need to get through those last final moments of a 180° turn around!
